Welcome to Mac-Photo - Mark Cohran's Personal Photography Site

This is my opportunity to share my photography with my friends and potential clients. You'll find many different types of photography in these pages. I hope you enjoy your visit here, and you're welcome to provide feedback and comments.

I've always been interested in photography. My parents bought me my first camera when I was about 11 years old, and I remember running around the neighborhood shooting my friends and the scenery. I got seriously interested when I bought my first 35mm SLR (I still have it and it works quite well), and I'm sure I've taken tens of thousands of photos over the years.

These days, I won't plan a pleasure trip without considering the photographic potentials of the trip and which cameras and lenses I should pack to maximize those potentials. It's fun to plan travel around my photography, and I'm the most relaxed when I have a camera in hand contemplating the composition and the exposure for my next shot.

Since I live in one of the most beautiful states in America, I don't have to travel far to find wonderful photographic opportunties. The Oregon coast is gorgeous, Mount Hood and Mount St. Helens are awesome, the Columbia River Gorge is breathtaking, and the Willamette Valley is full of great scenic vistas. Hiking and photography combine to make a great, synergistic hobbies.

I also enjoy writing, so you'll find a few articles here about photography, and in the future, possibly about some other issues as well. Most of this site is G-rated, but since I've done a lot of glamour photography, you may stumble across some tasteful nudity. If that offends you, I apologize, but you have been duly warned. I have tried to indicate which materials are inappropriate for the work environment by providing the NSFW (Not Safe for Work) annotation.

So, please, look around and enjoy your visit here. I hope you find the photography relaxing and inspiring. I do very much hope you share your thoughts with me.
